Urad dal is also known as white lentil, urad sabut/saboot in Hindi, ulundhu paruppu in Tamil, minappappu/ minumulu in Telugu and uzhunnu parippu in Malayalam. Organic split urad dal is used in cooking as a seasoning and also in preparing dishes like idly, dosa, papad, vada etc
